Remove Windows AI
deShitification of Windows 11
Windows 11 has become unusable on any hardware then higher end machines. MY work machine is an i9 ultra with 32 GB of ram, and on boot it has almost 50% of its memory already used. That is simply unacceptable.
I’m baffled by all the AI crap that Microsoft has added to Windows 11. It does nothing to the experience and just bloats Windows. Not to mention the shitification of programming with React as a backend FOR DESKTOP. Every “native” Windows app is no longer native. Its web technologies are wrapped with the Webview2 engine. That’s why a freaking Calendar widget that lives in your tray takes almost 100mb of memory. That is not acceptable.
A couple of days ago, I got my final notice that Windows 10 will not be updated anymore, and I need to switch to Windows 11. I refused, and I’m now joining millions of computer users around the world who are, for the first time, looking at Linux as a serious desktop replacement. No need for some useless crypto chip that needs to be installed for you to use your system as Windows requires, no need for 128 GB of memory that is now more expensive than its weight in gold.
But, as fast as Linux is advancing to take that position, there are still some software that I’m using daily that have no way of running on Linux natively, so a workaround is needed, and I found one that will lessen the bulk of Windows 11.
Let me introduce you to Remove Windows Ai. A GitHub repo that hosts a shell script that removes all that AI bloatware from Windows 11.
